Police Pursuit Ends With Arrest Of BILLIP

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged a male party after a vehicle pursuit in Ramara Township.

On March 16, 2016 at approximately 1:48 a.m., the Orillia OPP was contacted in relation to a suspicious vehicle at a residence on Ramara Road 47. When officers arrived at scene they observed the vehicle travelling northbound on Ramara Road 47. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the suspect vehicle sped off. After a short pursuit the vehicle was located on Ridge Road and the driver was taken into custody.

Wojclech BILLIP, 50 years old of Poland, has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. He was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing today in Barrie Criminal Court.
