(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On March 20, 2016 at approximately 2:31 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male in connection to a domestic related investigation in the Township of Southgate.
Investigation revealed that the male, in an effort to prevent his common-law spouse from leaving their property, damaged her vehicle. When she drove away, he set chase in another vehicle forcing her to stop by cutting the vehicle off. The couple’s infant child was inside the victim’s vehicle at the time.
A 19-year old Township of Southgate male has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle as well as domestic assault and mischief. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2016 in Owen Sound.
There were no injuries reported.
