No Mudguards Leads To Charges

(ESPANOLA, ON)- On March 25, 2016, at approximately 2:10 p.m., members from the Espanola Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Highway 17, west of the town of Massey.

As a result of the investigation, it was found that the male driver was suspended from driving and that the vehicle he was operating required mudguards.

Darcy McINTOSH, 27 years of age, from Sault-Ste-Marie, was charged with the following:

Driving while under suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act – two counts

Fail to notify change of address – licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

No mudguards, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The vehicle the accused was operating was towed and impounded for seven days.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, on May 12, 2016.
