(MONO, ON) – On Sunday April 4, 2016 at 10:55 pm Dufferin OPP officers were dispatched to serious personal injury collision on Highway 10 south of Highway 89 in the Town of Mono.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators, Shelburne Fire Department and Dufferin EMS all responded to the scene.
Preliminary investigation reveals that northbound Honda sedan crossed centre line and was struck in the passenger door by a southbound tractor trailer which was travelling in its lane. The two occupants of the Honda sedan succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of transport was not injured.
The investigation into this collision is ongoing and next of kin have not been notified and no further details will be released at this time. Highway 10 was closed from 11 pm April 3, 2016 until 8 am April 4, 2016 while investigation was ongoing at the scene.
