(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a two vehicle collision which occurred on April 4, 2016, at approximately 8:39 a.m., on Adelaide Road, north of Medway Road.
A black Ford car was travelling northbound in the southbound lane, attempting to pass northbound traffic. It lost control, and its front passenger side collided with the front of a black Jeep sport utility vehicle (SUV), which was travelling southbound on Adelaide Road, in the southbound lane.
The driver, and lone occupant, of the Ford, a 23-year-old male, from London, Ontario, was transported with life-threatening injuries by ambulance to hospital, where he remains listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Jeep, a 50-year-old male, from Middlesex Centre, Ontario, was transported with non-life threatening injuries by ambulance to hospital, and discharged. His 17-year-old male passenger, from Middlesex Centre, Ontario, was transported with non-life threatening injuries by ambulance to hospital. His current condition is unknown.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene to assist with the investigation. As a result, Adelaide Road, between Medway Road and Adelaide Road, was closed. The roadway re-opened at approximately 2:30 p.m.
