(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Officers from the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment, with the assistance of the Muskoka Crime Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit, are investigating an assault with a weapon that resulted in injuries to two men early Sunday morning.
Police responded to a 9-1-1 call on Sunday April 3, 2016 at 3:00 a.m. in the area of Maple Street in Bracebridge and when they arrived at the location, determined that one man had been assaulted with a weapon. The victim and the assailant were both transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have charged 33 year-old Richard MCCREA of Ottawa, ON with Assault Causing Bodily Harm CC 267(b), Aggravated Assault CC 268 and Assault with a Weapon CC 267(a). The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice, Bracebridge on Tuesday April 5, 2016 to answer to his charges.
