(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On April 11, 2016, at 8:12 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol on Highway 17, west of Blind River.
At 7:50 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle on Highway 17 and initiated a traffic stop. As a result of the investigation, an open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle.
Jeremy HARRIS, 37 years of age from Oshawa, Ontario, was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor, contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act.
SUSPENDED DRIVER CHARGED
(BLIND RIVER, ON) – On April 13, 2016, at 8:12 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol in he Town of Blind River.
At 10:38 p.m., police observed an eastbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Causley Street. A traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation, the driver was found to be a suspended.
Matthew MCCORMICK, 28 years of age, from Copper Cliff, Ontario, was charged with:
Speeding, contrary to section of 128 of the Highway Traffic Act; and
Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to section of 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on May 25, 2016.
