(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On April 24, 2016 at approximately 12:34 p.m. Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at the intersection of the 8th Concession and 30th Sideroad in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.
A 2004 Mazda vehicle stopped at the spot check and the lone driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. After failing a roadside breath test he was arrested and transported to the Meaford OPP Detachment for further breath tests, which he failed.
55-year old Paul HEASLIP of Toronto was charged with impaired – over 80 milligrams, as well has driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on May 19, 2016.
