(PORT HOPE, ON) – On July 24, 2015 at 1:03pm the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a two car motor vehicle collision on Highway 401 in the westbound lanes between County Road 28 and Toronto Road.
Several occupants from both vehicles were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance with life threatening injuries. One of those occupants, a 16 month old male from Gatineau Quebec, succumbed to his injuries and is now deceased.
On April 28, 2016, Ach-Ary ALHABO age 36 of Gatineau, Quebec turned himself in to police at the Ottawa OPP detachment where he was arrested and charged with Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle causing death. He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on June 29, 2016.
