Abduction In Ramara Township – Police Seek Public Assistance

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the assistance of the public in locating the parties involved in an assault and abduction in Ramara Township.

On May 1, 2016 at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Orillia OPP was dispatched to the Ultramar gas station on Highway 12 in Ramara Township. When officers arrived on scene they were advised by the 74 year old male victim that 4 males had attended his residence and assaulted him before demanding money. Two of the suspects then abducted the male and left with the victim in a white Ford motorhome. The victim advised that the two other suspects were in a second motorhome with a red canoe on the roof. The victim was able to escape at the gas station and call police.

The motorhome the victim was abducted in was located in the parking lot of the Independent Grocer, located on Beaver Avenue in Beaverton, Ontario. Police are still searching for the second motorhome with the canoe on the roof.

The Orillia Crime Unit is investigating this incident and is requesting the assistance of the public in identifying the parties involved in this incident.
