858 Marijuana Plants Seized In Drug Bust

(Lanark Highlands, Ontario) – On Wednesday April 27th, 2016 members of the OPP Drug Enforcement Unit assisted by members of OPP Emergency Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (C.D.S.A.) Warrant at a residence in the Township of Lanark Highlands in Lanark County.

During the investigation police located and seized the following:

approximately 20 pounds of packaged cannabis marihuana bud

858 cannabis marihuana plants.

Digital scales

Cannabis marihuana grow equipment including lights, heat shields, timers, ballasts

1 insecure rifle with ammunition

1 prohibited weapon- butterfly knife

Contraband cigarettes

Seventy Two (72) year old, Terry BUREAU of Lanark Highlands is charged with:

Possession for the Purpose Schedule II Substance over 3 kgs-Cannabis Marihuana

Production of a Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Marihuana

Careless Storage of a Firearm

Sixty Eight (68) year old, Jeanne BUREAU of Lanark Highlands is charged with:

Possession for the Purpose Schedule II Substance under 3 kgs-Cannabis Marihuana

Production of a Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Marihuana

Forty Three (43) year old, Derek BUREAU of Lanark Highlands is charged with:

Possession for the Purpose Schedule II Substance under 3 kgs-Cannabis Marihuana

Production of a Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Resin

Possession of a prohibited weapon

Seventy One (71) year old, Jerry COOPER of Lanark Highlands is charged with:

Possession for the Purpose Schedule II Substance under 3 kgs-Cannabis Marihuana

Production of a Schedule II Substance- Cannabis Marihuana

The accused were each released from custody on an Officer in Charge Undertaking and Promise to Appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Perth on July 18th, 2016.
