Charges Laid After Hit And Run With A House

(PEMBROKE, ON) – On May 01, 2016 at approximately 6:20pm a resident on Eganville Road in the City of Pembroke called police to report that a vehicle had left the roadway and struck their house. The driver failed to remain and the vehicle proceeded to flee the scene. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers from the Pembroke Detachment responded and a short time later police located the driver and suspect vehicle, a 2006 Cadillac sedan, on Miller Street in the City of Pembroke. The driver was taken into custody and during the arrest process he damaged a police cruiser. As a result 26 year old Joshua Glenn MCKENNEY of Laurentian Valley Township faces the following Criminal Code charges:

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Mischief Under $5000

Fail to Comply with Probation – 2 counts

He was also charged with Fail To Remain under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). He was held for a bail hearing and is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on May 03, 2016.
