On March 7, 2016 Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police – Prescott Detachment were contacted to investigate missing money from the Leeds and Grenville Insurance Brokers – a non- profit organization.
The 2 month long investigation was led by the OPP Grenville County Crime Unit. Investigation revealed that between May, 2012 and December 2015 more than $50,000 had been transferred out of the Leeds and Grenville Insurance Brokers bank accounts and into a private account.
On May 6, 2016 former treasurer of the Leeds and Grenville Insurance Brokers, 46 year old Robin Van Luit of Prescott Ontario was charged with Fraud over $5000 and making a Forged Document. She is to appear in Brockville Court at a later date.
