(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – Members of the County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend a single vehicle collision on 24 May 2016 at approximately 3:10 a.m. on Highway #53 just east of the village of Cathcart in the County of Brant.
County of Brant OPP attended the scene along with County of Brant Fire and Ambulance service and found that an east bound Ford Focus being operated by 19- year-old Jacob HOAG of Norfolk County lost control and collided with a tree.
The passenger in the Ford Focus who was pronounced dead at the scene has now been positively identified as 21-year-old Derek BUTLER of Norfolk County.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) who were been deployed to the scene are continuing with the investigation.
