On Wednesday April 27th, 2016 shortly after 1:30 pm Owen Sound Fire, EMS and Police responded to the report of a grass fire in the 1600 block of 28th Avenue East. The police investigation determined that a female youth had intentionally set fire to some dry grass using a lighter and aerosol can. The fire quickly spread to cover an area of approximately 7 metres x 15 metres. Several youth that had accompanied the female were unsuccessful in their attempts to stamp out the fire using their feet. The fire was extinguished by the fire department. There were no reports of any injuries sustained.
