Chatham-Kent Daily News Release – 24May2016

The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 140 calls for service in the last 24 hours. 6 people were arrested.

Motor Vehicle Collision CK16014471

Sunday May 22nd, 2016, shortly before 6:00 p.m. emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Erieau Road and Erie Shore Drive. The vehicle involved are described as a blue Ford truck and a Black GMC.

Preliminary investigation had revealed that five parties were injured in the motor vehicle collision with one party being ejected from one of the vehicles.

Parties were transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the GMC vehicle was charged under the highway traffic act for Attempt to pass-roadway not clear, Novice Driver BAC above 0 and issued a three day license suspension.

Stolen Motorcycle in Dresden CK16014611

Sometime between 8:10 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. last night unknown suspect(s) stole a 2004 Yamaha R6 YZF from the Blackburn Cemetery on Croton Line. The motorcycle was last seen with Ontario licence plates 4594R.

The motorcycle is described red and black in colour and is equipped with flash mount indicators and has a loud exhaust system.

Structure Fire near Thamesville CK16014644

The Chatham-Kent Police and Chatham-Kent Fire responded to a structure fire near Thamesville.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning emergency crews responded to a barn on fire on Huff Side Road. Through investigation, emergency personnel determined that the barn was full of old lumber, and was completely burned down on arrival. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Structure Fire in Tupperville CK16014636

The Chatham-Kent Police and Chatham-Kent Fire responded to a structure fire on Tupperville Road.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. yesterday emergency crews responded to a barn on fire on Broad line. Through investigation, emergency personnel determined that the barn had approximately $60 000.00 in equipment inside, and was completely burned down on arrival. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
