Fatal Collision On Hwy 35 – Name Of Deceased Released

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On June 24, 2016, at approximately 2:52 pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other emergency services personnel were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on Highway 35 south of Coboconk. The collision resulted in the death of one person.

Anthony DYMOTT, 97 years of age, of Kinmount, died after the vehicle he was driving struck another vehicle. Both vehicles were north bound at the time of the collision. The driver of the second vehicle, a 55 year old female, Whitby resident, was not injured.

Highway 35 was closed while the accident was investigated. The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) assisted with the investigation. No charges are pending.
