Drunk Driver Drops Motorcycle And Walks Away – Darryl James HODGE Charged

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On July 16, 2016 at approximately 9:59 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information of a possible impaired motorcycle operator at the intersection of Miller Street and Pearson Street in the Municipality of Meaford.

Witnesses observed the 2015 Suzuki GXA motorcycle approach the intersection at which time the operator dropped the bike for no apparent reason. He walked away from the bike, heading eastbound on Miller Street.

Police attended and found that the operator had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Meaford OPP Detachment for breath tests, which he failed. The motorcycle was towed.

49-year old Darryl James HODGE of the Municipality of Meaford was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and having a blood alcohol content of over 80 milligrams.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on July 28, 2016.
