Trey YURKOWSKI – Drunk Driving

(EAR FALLS, ON) – Officers of the Ear Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an adult male driver with impaired driving.

On July 17, 2016 at 6:01 a.m. Ear Falls OPP received a complaint of an impaired driver traveling on highway 105 in Ear Falls. Officers located the 2009 Jeep and driver. Following an investigation, officers suspected the driver to under the influence of alcohol and administered an Approved Screening Device (ASD) test. Failing the ASD the male was transported to the Red Lake Detachment for more testing.

Trey YURKOWSKI , age 18, of Red Lake, Ontario, is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in 100 Millilitres of Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

YURKOWSKI was released on a Promise to Appear in Red Lake Court, September 29, 2016. The vehicle was impounded for a minimum of 7 days and he was issued a mandatory drivers licence suspension.

Drivers are reminded that alcohol remains in the body for some time depending on the amount consumed. Although you may feel sober after a night of drinking you may still be impaired. Please drink responsibly and plan ahead to ensure you have safe travels home. The public is encouraged to call 911 or contact police at 1-888-310-1122 whenever suspecting that a driver is impaired while operating a motor vehicle whether it is a Car, Truck, Motorcycle, ATV, Snowmobile, Boat or even an Airplane.
