(CALEDON, ON) – On Sunday, July 10, 2016 shortly after 1:30 am, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE (Reducing Impaired Driving Everywhere) check on Bramalea Road at Olde Base Line Road. A male operating a black Lincoln MKZ approached the check. Upon speaking with the male driver, the officer immediately detected a strong odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath.
As a result, Frank MERRILL, 56, from Caledon was charged with Adult Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.
The 90 day Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on July 28, 2016.
