Drowning In Lake Huron – Deceased Identified

(SAUGEEN FIRST NATION, ON) – Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a drowning that occurred at a Lake Huron beach area located off of Shore Road South, Saugeen First Nation on Saturday, July 23, 2016.

At approximately 1:02 p.m. Bruce Peninsula OPP together with Emergency Services responded to the scene after having received a report of a male in distress. Several citizens went to the aid of the male, a non-swimmer, who was pulled to the shore and where CPR was initiated. Emergency responders continued with life-saving efforts while the victim was being transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by the attending physician.

The deceased male has been identified as 28-year old Bradley LIANI of Cambridge, Ontario.

A post mortem examination was scheduled for today, July 25th, to determine the exact cause of death which is presumed to be drowning.
