(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On Sunday August 7th, 2016 just after 6:00 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a serious rollover single vehicle, motor vehicle collision on Oxbow Drive, Middlesex Center, Ontario.
Middlesex County OPP, along with Middlesex London Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Middlesex Centre Fire, responded to Oxbow Drive, between Coldstream Road and Nairn Road.
Upon arrival, responders located a single motor vehicle in the ditch. The white Chrysler car had rolled several times. Two occupants were located with the vehicle.
The passenger, a 16-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Thomas DECOSTE, from Middlesex Centre, Ontario.
The driver, a 40-year-old male, from Middlesex Centre, Ontario, was airlifted to hospital by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries. He has been discharged from hospital.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene to assist with the investigation. As a result, Oxbow Drive, between Coldstream Road and Nairn Road was closed, but has since been re-opened.
This incident remains under investigation.
