Andrea SMITH – Drunk Driving

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – On July 7, 2016, at approximately 12:13 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Oneida First Nation Police responded to a report of a suspicious person.

An unknown female had attended the door of a residence on Longwoods Road, near Charles Street, asked for directions, and returned to her motor vehicle, a brown Toyota car. Police were contacted, and patrolled the area.

The vehicle was located on Longwoods Road, west of Peter Street, in Strathroy Caradoc, Ontario, and a traffic stop was initiated. It was determined that the female driver (lone occupant) had been drinking alcohol.

She was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests, which revealed she had consumed more than twice legal limit of alcohol.

As a result of the police investigation, 39-year-old Andrea SMITH, from London, Ontario, has been charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charge in a London court on September 22, 2016.
