(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On August 20, 2016 at approximately 2:17 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a possible impaired driver in a 2007 Jeep turn from Geddes Street on to David Street, Elora and a stop was made. Police spoke with a male driver and believed that he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for testing.
25-year-old Cody HAMILTON of Centre Wellington Township has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 20, 2016.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
