(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment has charged a male after police stopped a vessel near the Turkey Point Marina located on Lake Erie.
On Saturday, September 3, 2016, at approximately 9:08 p.m., police were patrolling the waters near the Turkey Point Marina when a vessel attracted the attention of the officer.
The Norfolk County OPP Marine Unit subsequently stopped the vessel and identified the operator.
As a result of police investigation, police arrested and charged 31-year-old Travis Daniel CRAWFORD of St Thomas, Ontario, with operating a vessel over the legal limit.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charge.
“Drivers still need constant reminding not to drink and drive. There is no safe level of alcohol consumption when getting behind the wheel of a vehicle or vessel,” comments Inspector Zvonko Horvat, Detachment Commander, Norfolk County OPP.
