(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 60-year-old male and a 59-year-old female after investigating a disturbance that occurred at a Provincial Park on Haldimand Road 20 in Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario.
On Sunday September 4, 2016 at approximately 11:20 p.m., OPP responded to Byng Island Provincial Park for a disturbance and dispute between guests. Witnesses reported that two males became involved in a physical confrontation. Park security quickly attended the scene and separated the parties.
OPP investigation has determined that a male and female became involved in a verbal argument with neighbouring campers which turned into a physical altercation. One of the male’s produced an edged weapon however no injuries were reported.
As a result of the investigation, OPP has charged 60-year-old David ROBERGE of Caistor Centre, Ontario with causing a disturbance, assault with a weapon and utter threats to damage property.
OPP has also charged 59-year-old Linda ROBERGE with causing a disturbance, assault, and mischief under $5,000.
Both are to appear in Provincial Court , Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
