(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – On September 7, 2016 approximately 7:00p.m. Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a female party on an outstanding warrant.
Once in police custody the female went into medical distress. EMS attended the Elgin County Detachment and transported her to hospital. The female has since been pronounced deceased.
The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
