(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is investigating an incident after being called to a Concession 11, Walpole Township, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Sunday, September 11, 2016 at approximately 4:25 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services with the assistance of Norfolk County and Hamilton Fire Services responded to Clear Blue Sorbents for a fully engulfed building fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene and brought the fire under control preventing it from spreading to a nearby building.
The total damage is estimated at approximately $5 million dollars.
No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.
The Ontario Fire Marshalls Office and the Ministry of Environment have been notified.
Concession 11 is closed between Haldimand Road 55 and County Line. The roadway will remain closed for the next 10 hours to allow firefighters to extinguish the fire.
