20 Year Old Drunk Driver Caught At RIDE Near Mitchell – Name Released

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – On Friday September 09, 2016, after 8 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting one of their many Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) programs. They had set up at the intersection of Line 32 and Road 160 (East of Mitchell), when shortly after 8:30 p.m. a Dodge Ram Pickup truck entered the RIDE program.

An officer while speaking with the male driver of the pickup truck, made determination that he had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The driver failed a roadside breath test and also failed two subsequent Intoxilyzer breath tests at the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville.

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in the Stratford Criminal Court of Justice on September 26, 2016. He was issued an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
