Two Arrested After Break And Enter To Stratford TSC – Names Released

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Saturday September 10, 2016, shortly after 4 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were notified of alarm activations at the Stratford TSC store.

Stratford Police Service assisted with the call and arrested a male after a short foot pursuit. The Stratford Police Service Canine Unit also attended the scene and located a second male lying in a field attempting to evade police. Officers found property belonging to the TSC store on the males. One of the males also had Methamphetamine in his possession.

37-year-old Christopher ROTHERNEL and 42-year-old Christopher SURETTE both residents of Stratford were arrested. They face the Criminal Code of Canada charge of; “break, enter a place – commit indictable offence”, and “possession break in instruments”. ROTHERNEL faces an additional charge of “possession of Methamphetamine”, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Both males are scheduled to appear at the Stratford Ontario Court of Justice on September 26, 2016, to answer to the charges.
