Christie WOOD – Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On Friday afternoon, September 9, at approximately 4:45pm a traffic complaint was called into the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). At that time a vehicle was northbound on Highway 35 in the area of Highway 7A and was being operated in an erratic manner.

Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded and the vehicle was stopped just south of Lindsay. After an investigation the driver, 39 year old Christie WOOD of Toronto was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) CCC

Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on October 13, 2016.
