(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 36-year-old male as a result of an assault that occurred at a Lock Street East, Dunnville, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Thursday September 8, 2016 at approximately 12:27 p.m., OPP responded to the area of Lock Street East and Queen Street for an assault in progress. It was reported that two males were assaulting another male with weapons, one of which was reported to be an edged weapon.
Both male suspects fled on foot.
OPP investigation determined the suspects and the victim were known to each other.
OPP located one of the male suspects a short time later and the investigation led to his arrest.
The male victim sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault.
OPP has charged 36-year-old Kevin ONIS of Dunnville, Ontario with assault with a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.
OPP has identified the second male suspect and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
The investigation is ongoing.
