(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On September 7, 2016 shortly after 6:30 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault that had just occurred at a residence on Hillside Drive North in the City of Elliot Lake.
Investigation revealed that the complainant’s ex-husband attended her residence. The male had kicked in her front door and physically assaulted her. Police located the male walking a short time later and arrested him.
A 47 year old male from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with:
Assault-Spousal, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC); and
Mischief Under $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC.
The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on September 8, 2016.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE – MALE AND FEMALE CHARGED
(ELLIOT LAKE, ON) – On September 8, 2016 shortly before 6:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to domestic dispute at a residence on Hutchison Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake.
A female had invited her ex-boyfriend over to her and her roommate’s residence. When the ex-boyfriend went to bed, his ex-girlfriend stole his fanny pack. The female attempted to run outside the residence when she was stopped by her ex. An altercation ensued between the couple. The female was physically assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.
As a result, a 57 year old male, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with: Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC).
And, a 24 year old female, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with: Theft, contrary to section 334(6) of the CC.
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on November 1, 2016.
NOISE COMPLAINT- FEMALE CHARGED UNDER CITY BY LAW
(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- On September 9, 2016, shortly after 2:00 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at an apartment building on Hillside Drive North in the City of Elliot Lake.
A woman in her apartment was banging on her walls, screaming and yelling. Police attended the apartment and spoke with the female.
As a result, Julie Poulin, 37 years of age from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Create Noise – Disturbing Inhabitants, contrary to City of Elliot Lake By-Law 99-66.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE – COUPLE CHARGED
(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- On September 11, 2016 shortly before 11:30 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to domestic dispute at a residence on Axmith Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake.
An argument ensued between a male and a female and escalated into an altercation where both physically assaulted each other.
As a result, a 42 year old male and a 42 year old female, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, were both charged with: Assault, contrary to section 266, of the Criminal Code.
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of Justice in Elliot Lake on November 1, 2016.
