On September 15, 2016, at 5:20 pm, a 26-year-old man from the Simcoe area was travelling south along Northfield Drive in the Township of Woolwich. A 52-year-old Kenilworth resident was travelling north along the same roadway, having just come through the intersection of Line 86. The north bound vehicle attempted to pass and pulled out directly in front of the south bound motorcycle. The vehicles collided head on. The driver of the motorcycle was seriously injured and transported to Grand River Hospital by ambulance and later to Hamilton General Hospital by Air Ambulance. His condition is listed as critical. The driver of the car was also transported to Grand River Hospital. He was treated and released for minor injuries. The collision remains under investigation.
