Police Recover Stolen Vehicle Involved In Collision

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is investigating a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on Mackenzie Road near Fifth Line in Caledonia, Haldimand County, Ontario.

On Friday September 23, 2016 at approximately 2:35 a.m., OPP responded for a single motor vehicle collision on Mackenzie Road where it was reported that the vehicle had rolled over into the ditch and a male was standing at the side of the road near the vehicle. It was reported that the male was not injured.

Police arrived and noticed that the male had fled the area. A search of the area was conducted and the male could not be located.

OPP investigation, thus far, has determined that the green Toyota vehicle was travelling southbound on Mackenzie Road and, for unknown reasons, left the roadway and collided into the ditch where it rolled onto its right side.

Further investigation determined that the vehicle was stolen from an address in Port Dover, Norfolk County.

The investigation is continuing.
