Driver Charged In Collision

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles that occurred at Sandusk Road and Concession 12 Walpole in Hagersville, Haldimand County, Ontario.

On Saturday September 24, 2016 at approximately 6:00 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Haldimand County Paramedics responded to Sandusk Road and Concession 12 Walpole for a two vehicle collision.

OPP investigation has determined that a green Toyota SUV was travelling westbound on Concession 12 Walpole and collided with a black Pontiac car that was travelling northbound on Sandusk Road. Both vehicles spun causing the Pontiac to strike a utility pole.

The 47-year-old male driver of the Toyota SUV was transported by paramedics to a local area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

OPP has charged 29-year-old James MURDOCH of Hamilton, Ontario with failing to yield to through traffic under The Highway Traffic Act.
