(TOWNSHIP OF ESSA)- At approximately 2:10pm, September 27, 2016, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a motor vehicle collision on Simcoe County Road 56 at the 5th Sideroad of Essa Township.
A westbound dump truck, driven by Thomas MacDonald, age 55, of Brampton failed to stop at the stop sign at the 5th Sideroad and collided with a northbound Chevrolet Blazer being driven by Erika SZARKA, age 43, of Wasaga Beach. SZARKA was airlifted by Air Ambulance to a Toronto area Hospital where she remains in stable condition.
This collision is still under investigation and charges are pending.
