(ESSA TOWNSHIP) – At approximately 6:10pm, on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to a two vehicle collision on County Road 56 at the 5th Sideroad of Essa Township. The crash involved a northbound motorcycle and a westbound car.
The car failed to yield right of way to the motorcycle. The operator of the motorcycle, Kevin ELLIS, age 22, of Innisfil , was transported to an area hospital, by Simcoe County Paramedics, with injuries to his arm and leg.
The driver of the car, Elijah COOPER, age 20, of Barrie, was uninjured. COOPER has been charged with Careless Driving, under the Highway Traffic Act.
