(HAMILTON TWP, ON) –On October 5, 2016 the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an alarm at a business on County Road 2 in Hamilton Township. An employee at scene advised officers that a break-in had occurred. Moments later, police received a call at the Baltimore Fire Station reporting a suspicious male apparently attempting to hide a pickup truck behind a fire truck.
Officers attended the fire hall and located the male who after investigation, was arrested and charged with the break-in that occurred on County Road 2 as well as another break-in that occurred at a Port Hope residence on Oak Hill Road reported on October 1, 2016.
Randall James LYTLE age 55 of Oshawa, Ontario is charged with the following offences in relation to the October 5, 2016 incident:
Break and Enter with intent to commit an indictable offence
Mischief Over $5,000 (two counts)
Fail to Comply with Recognizance (two counts)
He also faces the following charges in relation to the October 1, 2016 incident:
Break and Enter with intent to commit an indictable offence
Mischief Under $5,000
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
He was held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for October 5, 2016.
