(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 8, 2016 at approximately 11:33 p.m., a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near the Second Line in Centre Wellington Township. The officer observed a 2005 Ford travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 133 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
18-year-old Paula O’BRIEN of Haldimand County has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on November 16, 2016 to answer to the charge.
