Orillia OPP Weekend Update

(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the long weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 180 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions, thefts, assaults.

On October 8, 2016 at approximately 2:53 a.m., officers from the Orillia OPP were patrolling Mississaga Street East in the City of Orillia when they observed a male party kick and break the glass door of a business. Officers arrested the male and after further investigation confirmed that he had broken the glass on two other businesses on Mississaga Street.

Chad SHARPE, 22 years old of Orillia, has been charged with three counts of Mischief. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on November 1, 2016.
