(Hwy# 62 Belleville) – On October 27, 2016 at 7:35 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway# 62 near Clearview Road in the City of Belleville.
A south bound snow plow struck a guard rail which tipped the truck on its side spilling its load. A south bound car subsequently rear ended the snow plow. None of the involved drivers were injured. The highway was blocked for several hours while the vehicles were removed and the roadway was cleaned up.
Central Hastings O.P.P would like to remind motorists that snowfall and freezing rain can cause adverse driving conditions. Drivers are encouraged to:
Check road conditions before heading out
Reduce speed and leave extra space between vehicles
Stay behind working snowplows
Use winter tires for added safety
