(TECUMSEH, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal motor vehicle, pedestrian collision in the westbound lanes of Highway 401 west of Essex County Road 19 (Manning Road) in Tecumseh, Ontario.
The collision occurred at approximately 6:50 p.m. and the pedestrian was transported to an area hospital but succumbed to their injuries.
The identity of the deceased is not being released pending next of kin notification.
The vehicle involved in the collision did not stop at the scene and has yet to be identified.
Highway 401 westbound from Essex County Road 25 (Puce Road) will be closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
