(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision that sent four people to hospital. The collision occurred on Highway 6 near Haldimand Road 55 in Jarvis, Haldimand County, Ontario.
On Saturday November 12, 2016, at approximately 7:45 p.m., OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services, and Haldimand County Paramedics responded to Highway 6 for a two vehicle collision.
OPP investigation has determined that a grey Chevrolet Impala was travelling east bound on Haldimand Road 55 and collided with a white Dodge Caravan that was travelling north bound on Highway 6. The momentum of the collision then caused the grey Impala to strike a utility pole, trapping the two occupants.
The two occupants of the grey Impala were safely removed from the vehicle and transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The two occupants in the white Caravan were also transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway 6 was closed between Haldimand Road 55 and Nanticoke Creek Parkway for approximately 2 ½ hours.
OPP has charged 19-year-old Fiona MACDONALD of Mississauga, Ontario with failing to stop at a stop sign under The Highway Traffic Act.
