Stunt Drivers Charged

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On November 8, 2016 at approximately 3:59 p.m., a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 400 in Seguin Township. The officer observed a motor vehicle traveling more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted.

The driver of the motor vehicle, Indika PERERA, 35 years of age from Guelph was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed greater than 50km/hr. over the speed limit contrary to section 172(1) the Highway Traffic Act.

He will appear before the Parry Sound Provincial Offences Court on December 6, 2016 to answer to his charge.

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On November 11, 2016 at approximately 1:11 a.m., a member of the West Parry Sound OPP was conducting speed enforcement on Highway 69 in Carling Township. The officer observed a motor vehicle traveling at more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted.

The driver of the motor vehicle, John OMEZI, 29 years of age from Ajax was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed greater than 50km/hr. over the speed limit contrary to section 172(1) the Highway Traffic Act.

He will appear before the Parry Sound Provincial Offences Court on December 6, 2016 to answer to his charge.

An officer observed a motor vehicle traveling at more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted.

The driver of the motor vehicle, Robert CROSSMAN, 38 years of age from Sudbury was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed greater than 50km/hr. over the speed limit contrary to section 172(1) the Highway Traffic Act.

He will appear before the Parry Sound Provincial Offences Court on December 6, 2016 to answer to his charge.

Every person convicted of Race a Motor Vehicle is liable to a fine of not less than $2,000 and not more than $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term of not more than six months, or to both, in addition to his or her driver’s licence being suspended.
