(CHIPPEWAS OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – On November 5, 2016, at approximately 3:42 p.m., the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police were alerted to a possible impaired driver traveling northbound on Chippewa Road.
Officers located the motor vehicle, a grey Toyota sport utility vehicle (SUV), parked on Deer Dodem Drive, and determined that the 50-year-old male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment for breath tests, which revealed he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
As a result of the police investigation, Christopher YOUNG, from Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Ontario, has been charged with care or control while impaired (alcohol), and care or control over 80 mgs, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London, Ontario, court on December 8, 2016.
