(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 37-year-old male after police investigated an incident at a Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Sunday, November 27, 2016 at approximately 12:52 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned citizen reporting an assault.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that a male and female become involved in a verbal altercation which then turned into a physical confrontation. The male then entered a motor vehicle and subsequently collided with the front of the home. He then then fled back into the residence prior to police arriving at the location.
When officers arrived, the male was located and taken into custody without incident.
As a result of investigation, police have charged a 37-year-old male, from Brantford, Ontario with the following offences:
Break and Enter
Assault
Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle another person
Cruelty to animals- unnecessary pain, suffering or injury
Three (3) counts of Mischief
Take motor vehicle without consent
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Arson – damage to property
Driving while under suspension
Two (2) counts of fail to comply with Recognizance
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.
