(PICTON, ON) – On the 4th of December 2016 shortly after 1:00am, officers from the Prince Edward OPP were conducting a RIDE program in the village of Rossmore when a vehicle approached the officers and drove past them despite being directed to stop. The officers caught up to the vehicle and pulled it over a short distance away.
The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was subsequently arrested and brought to the Prince Edward Detachment for further breath testing which confirmed the driver’s blood alcohol level was two times above the legal limit of 80mgs.
Thomas J. BUCKLEY age 54yrs of Bloomfield faces criminal charges of Impaired Operation and Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol in his blood. His vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his drivers licence has been suspended for 90 days. BUCKLEY is further charged with three counts of Driving While Suspended under the Highway Traffic Act.
BUCKLEY has been held for a bail hearing which will be heard in Belleville courts on the 5th of December.
