(COLLINGWOOD,ON.) Members of the Crime Unit from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of front line members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP have arrested a male in relation to a sexual assault which recently took place in Collingwood.
On Friday December 2 2016 at approximately 3:30am, officers were called to attend an apartment located at 233 Saint-Paul Street in Collingwood for reports of a sexual assault. Investigation revealed that an unknown male gained entry into an apartment and sexually assaulted the female resident.
As a result of an extensive and detailed investigation, OPP have now arrested a male responsible for the incident. Investigation found that he was also involved in another such incident at the same apartment building in recent weeks.
Charged is 55 year-old Edmond DUVAL of Collingwood, he is facing two counts of sexual assault, two counts of break and enter a place – commit indictable offence and criminal harassment. He was held for a bail hearing this morning at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
