Farcical Candidates Meeting Only Missing Talent Portion

It was like a comical play put on to choose a prom king or queen. The questions were moot and irrelevant. The only surprise is they did not ask “if you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be”, because that would have been in line with the other questions. The only thing missing was a talent portion.

NOTE: The live stream of the meeting was cut short, just as a candidate starts going after council during his closing statements, and video of the more embarrassing beginning part is also missing. Well timed “technical glitches” are being blamed.

The North Huron All Candidates meeting started with the audience laughing at the incompetence of those hosting it, as the person in charge of making sure things run on schedule was running late. Then this person started blinding candidates with the glare from a tablet by using it like a mirror to reflect the theater lights. Apparently she was so bored with the questions “allowed” to be asked, she needed to amuse herself.

Despite the large pile of questions from the audience, only a few “approved” questions were asked. Pointless and moot was the theme. One question was about the volunteering experience of the candidates. Most candidates claimed their parenting counted as serving their community because they drove their kids to hockey, and/or held a door open for someone once. One candidate claimed her love of snowmobiling and participating in that leisure activity served our community, she even talked about butterflies.

Panicked candidates started mimicking previous responses, or just outright stated they had no idea how to answer the question. One candidate complained about the compensation being too low despite the recent 20% raise, and also how the public is so thankless.

Watch the meeting below, and you will notice that 1 of these things is not like the others! If you watch the meeting, or were there in person, you’ll already know why they cut the live feed.
